Brief: Holiday House Extension
Location: Shoreham, Victoria
Climate: Temperate - Coastal
Architect: Third Skin
Area: 57m2 + decks 35m2
With a brief to renovate and extend a 1940’s farmhouse for weekend and holiday use, the extension was designed to add a new kitchen/dining area and bedroom to the existing house.
With a floor level dropping down from the existing living area, the new raised ceiling kitchen/dining volume positions the dining table at the centre of the house. Northern rural and eastern sea views are framed through timber windows, and fully opened up on a northern deck.
Living areas are finished in Habitech’s hoop ply interior finish, with the bedroom being finished in plasterboard over our wall panels.
The project was built to lock-up stage in two and a half weeks.
