Brief: Rural Family Home - 2 Bedrooms + Study
Location: Redesdale, Victoria
Architect: Third Skin
Area: 134m2 slab area.
Redesdale house is a celebration of architecture and its integration with rural Victoria. The experience of Redesdale begins as one first enters the site, with sweeping views across the surrounding countryside. From there, the house is sheltered behind a gentle hill and only comes fully into view after turning the final corner.
Much like the journey that took you towards the house, the interior layout becomes an experience of re-orientation and view capturing in itself. By entering along a private pathway with exposed rock spines, you are greeted by a gallery providing a glimpse of the eastern valley. The house then opens up into a large lounge, dining and kitchen area with framed views towards the Campaspe River and a fully glazed northern end to the home maximising light. A garden & deck area located at the northern end of the structure provides an outdoor space sheltered from prevailing winds.
