There was an interesting article on Houzz.com recently about the pros and cons of building with Structural Insulated Panels and featuring our Hawthorn Solar Extensions and the Mornington Houses - click the image below to see the story on Houzz.
One of the issues pointed out in the article was the difficulty in finding a builder to willing to work with SIP's and who is able to price them into projects. We would agree that finding the right builder for SIPs-based projects is crucial in delivering a successful and cost effective project.
Here at Habitech, we work with a number of great partner builders and put a lot of work into the way we coordinate the smooth delivery of our modular building system. We are always training new builders and we provide on-site assistance for the first few days of panel installation with new carpentry teams.
Here's what Craig McPhan, from Individual Builders in Mt Martha, had to say about our system:
We recently completed two adjoining houses at 813 Esplanade Mornington that were designed by Habitech Systems, using their SIPs wall panels. While we were a bit hesitant in taking the project, as we were unfamiliar with this system, after checking out one of Habitech’s projects under construction, my foreman and I were very impressed.
Individual Builders have been building architectural homes for many years and found Habitech’s wall and roof panel system unique, easy to work with and quick to put together. I was really impressed with the sound & insulation qualities of the system, being a continuous structure with no timber studs or penetrations.
Chris & Jon were great to work and communicate with, which is so important to us, as we run a very tight operation. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Habitech and their systems.
