It was good to see last weeks news that the Clean Energy Finance Corporation is financing the construction of 1,000 energy efficient houses through Affordable Housing Associations over the next five years.
Habietch's Managing Director, Chris Barnett, provided sustainability consulting advice to the CEFC on the development of their energy efficiency targets for low emission housing and we will be watching with interest to see how these homes develop and what strategies are used to help them meet energy ratings guidelines.
The new houses will be built to above regulatory standards in NSW, needing to achieve an average seven star NatHERS rating which translates into a 25% reduction in energy use.
A benefit for the environment and hopefully, the low income families who live in these homes.
