"We love that our studio is full of light!" says Anna Grieve, owner of the Habitech-designed Hawthorn Studio. "It also feels very sealed and because of the cross-breeze, we haven't had to use the hydronic heating that was installed."
The studio living area has a full northern aspect into a courtyard garden, maximising passive solar heating performance. The insulated slab captures the heat of the winter sun and excellent cross ventilation allows for summer cooling. The project was built on a complete time-scale of three months using the Habitech panel system.
"Habitech were very efficient, and took the stress out of the whole process, and we felt we could trust their environmental credentials and their attention to detail, particularly with regard to planning laws," says Anna. "We liked their integrity".
We recently organised a photoshoot at the studio, with Nic Granleese taking some shots of the exterior and interior. Below are some behind the scenes footage of the shoot - stay tuned for some beautiful images from Nic.
