Mornington - the pier takes shape, out of Queensland telegraph poles

The hardwood poles forming the basis of our pier construction down at the Mornington Beach Houses have been craned in smoothly and fixed to the top of the screw piles, that will be carrying the load (up to 12 metres) below each one.

Working with our clients and Craig at Individual Builders, we have managed to source recycled Ironbark posts that have had a previous life as telegraph poles in Queensland.  Having had a layer of outer timber wire-brushed off them, they are now beautiful and solid post of dense and extremely durable native timber - ready for another life fitting into the foreshore of Port Phillip Bay.
